I hope it helped in a way, haha! 

Ahh, I want to work with the values(and forms) first instead of worrying about which colors to use. Yeah, sometimes i don’t plan my drawings (i should from now on). It definitely helps me, and i worry less!

After that, i create a Overlay/Color/Soft Light layer over it. I prefer Soft Light over Overlay, haha. I merge the layers, use some adjustment settings like Hue/Saturation, Curves, Brightness/Contrast until I i’m satisfied with the image. And then i make a new (Normal) layer to add details or to tweak some parts.
